    LPN Unit Manager/Staff Development Coordinator

    Ideal position for an LPN Nurse with a background in Long Term Care and a passion for education! CommuniCare Health Services is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as Unit Manager/Staff Development LPN for Southwood Healthcare Center. If you want to share your nursing knowledge and abilities to help us build the most skilled, professional, and dedicated nursing team in the State of Indiana, then we are looking for YOU!

    Monday-Friday, 8 to 4:30

    Rate $33-$36/hour

    Job Description

    • Coordinate/conduct Nurse Aide training classes and testing and maintain all required documentation.
    • Develop materials, manuals, and teaching aides and maintain resource library.
    • Coordinate annual State-mandated inservicing for all employees.
    • Coordinate State-mandated training hours for all STNAs.
    • Participate in QI meetings to ensure staff training in identified areas of weakness.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective orientation program.
    • Conduct/coordinate skills testing.

    Requirements

    • Must possess a current license as an LPN in the state where the center is located.
    • Prior work/life experiences, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • Maintain "Train The Trainer" certificate for STNA training.
    • Prior experience in staff development in long term care desirable.
    • Prior supervisory experience, preferably in a long-term care center.
