    Job Description

    • Provide a range of integrated care services in a patient-centered medical home model.
    • Provide medical consultation and admissions to our inpatient addiction services.
    • Address substance use disorders, mental health issues, and medical problems using well-established protocols.
    • Assist with outpatient primary care and medications for addiction treatment.
    • Evaluate patients by collecting a comprehensive multidimensional psychiatric assessment of each client, which includes mental status, current functioning, medication history, treatment history, allergies, drug/alcohol use, and medical problems.
    • Obtain medical evaluation by a primary care medical doctor when client's clinical symptoms require PCP assessment.
    • Enter data and maintain integrity of mental records.
    • Initiate treatment and follow clients receiving psychotropic drug therapy based on clinical judgment in the context of an ongoing relationship with a collaborating psychiatrist and within own area of expertise.
    • Make referrals to psychiatrist when appropriate.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
    • Massachusetts licensure to practice in the expanded nursing role.
    • Possess or obtain prescription privileges in Massachusetts.
    • Valid DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Certificates.
    • Experience working with mental health and addiction issues.
