    Medical Imaging Technologist

    Join our team as a Medical Imaging Technologist, where you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinical environment.

    Job Description

    • Review patient schedules before patients arrive.
    • Demonstrate a proactive approach in confirming the patient's arrival.
    • Appropriately choose the correct patient based on schedule and priority.
    • Review scripts and all pertinent prior studies and notes.
      • Check for blood work when necessary.
      • Check authorization when necessary.
    • Confirm patient identification by asking the patient to spell their last name and provide date of birth.
      • Apply appropriate screening questions for MRI safety following department policy and procedure.
    • Collect clinical/medical history from the patient:
      • Confirm the ordered test and laterality/body part.
      • Understand why they are here for the exam.
      • Explain the exam to the patient in simple terms.
      • If necessary, call the ordering physician for new scripts.
    • Perform exams according to diagnosis, patient history, and protocol.
    • Provide as much comfort to the patient as possible during the exam.
    • Check all imaging before releasing the patient.
    • Input information into Meditech, including taken status, depart, and billing.
    • Input all clinical information into PACS/ARIS portal and check that all images were sent.
    • Ensure appropriate communication takes place depending on the priority and findings of the exam.
    • Communicate all technical and clinical aspects through the technologist.
    • Provide communication about any delays to the patient.

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of experience preferred, but not required.
    • Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
    • Ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies.
    • Developed skills to practice in a safe clinical environment.
    • Proficient in IV setup.
    • Knowledgeable in safe vs. unsafe metallic implants.
