Job Description
- In collaboration with a licensed preceptor, perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Establish a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
- Under the direct supervision of a licensed preceptor, perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Under the direct supervision of a licensed preceptor, document patient care given.
- Under direct supervision of a licensed preceptor, monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Under direct supervision of a licensed preceptor, collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Under direct supervision of a licensed preceptor, evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Requirements
- Applicants should have an associate's degree in Nursing.
- Applicants should be in the process of sitting for the NCLEX and receiving a current Tennessee Registered Nurse license or another compact state.
- Basic Life Support certification is required at the time of hire.
