Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

In keeping with our organization's goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides supervision of staff and safeguards the health, safety, and welfare of all residents under their care by following applicable laws, regulations, and established nursing policies and procedures.

Job Description

• Provides quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, and freedom of choice.
• Provides supervision to G.N.A's and all subordinate staff, which includes checking their work to ascertain that assignments have been completed.
• Administers all parenteral, intramuscular, and sub-cutaneous injections.
• Administers medications within the scope of practice of the L.P.N. licensure. Maintains a current report of narcotics received and used.
• Reviews daily the documentation of the dispensing of controlled substances and narcotics.
• Places pharmacy orders for and administers all newly prescribed medications and documents.
• Carries out direct contemporaneous charting during your shift. Charts detailed monthly evaluations of each resident that reflect their condition and progress.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered with the state as an LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse.
