Job Description:

• Provides direct nursing care within Scope of Practice
• Assists with medical appointments, emergencies, and sick calls
• Takes vital signs and documents medical complaints
• Assists with minor surgical procedures
• Implements medical provider orders
• Applies knowledge of drugs and therapeutics for medication administration
• Documents all patient contacts
• Develops nursing care plans
• Coordinates health care needs with other staff and referral providers
• Performs record-keeping in accordance with program policies
• Maintains patient and medical record confidentiality
• Ensures safety in medication administration and disposal of needles/syringes
• Assists with disposal of biologically hazardous wastes
• Assures a safe and clean working environment
• Assists with maintenance of medical equipment and quality control of laboratory reagents
• May assist in maintaining medical supply stock and ordering supplies
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Provides daily nursing care and notifies RN, Physician, or PA/NP of any abnormal findings
• Makes beds in the unit as needed
