APP Cardiology Opportunity in O'Fallon, IL

Located 17 miles from St. Louis, MO, this position performs and/or coordinates patient care in the area of expertise utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers along the continuum of care. The role demonstrates advanced nursing skills through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex patients in the area of specialty. It involves communicating the plan of care in the area of expertise to other members of the interdisciplinary team and providing care for patients of all ages according to the standards of care specific to the individual's needs. The primary duty includes the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge in a field of science or learning, which requires the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

Job Description

• Perform and coordinate patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with healthcare providers.
• Demonstrate advanced nursing skills through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex patients.
• Communicate the plan of care to other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide care for patients of all ages according to individual needs.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• Experience in management of patients across the care continuum is preferred.
• Specialty certification is required; ACLS may be required based on area of practice.
• Within two years of hire, the APN may be required to obtain their DEA license.
• Illinois license is required or candidate must be eligible to obtain.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
