CRNA Job Opportunity in Caribou, Maine

Located in Northern Maine, near the Canadian border and 200 miles from Bangor, ME, this position offers an immediate opportunity for a full-time Certified Nurse Anesthetist at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) facility.

Job Description

• Join 5 full-time CRNAs staffing our five Operating Rooms.
• The OR performs an average of 250 cases per month, including approximately 15 births per month.
• Surgical suites are equipped with state-of-the-art anesthesia equipment, and CRNAs are encouraged to practice as active independent members of the Anesthesia Team.
• Hours are typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with minimal trauma.
• Surgery percentages generally average 50% general surgeries, including eyes and urology; 25% Orthopedics; 10% OB/GYN; and 15% other surgeries.
• Head/heart cases are not performed.
• CRNA call responsibility is one in five, with a reasonable and manageable average call back.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS, with AANA Certification is required.
• The anesthesia department employs a Medical Supervision model which allows great flexibility and autonomy for the CRNAs.
• Skill requirements include General, Spinal, Obstetrical, Pediatric, and Thoracic Anesthesia (except open heart); Bier Block; Ventilation Management in the OR; and arterial line expertise. Epidural and peripheral nerve block expertise is also required.

About the Health System

The health system is a physician practice management organization with 30 physicians and 26 APP providers. Its northern Maine locations include Caribou (3 offices), Presque Isle, Washburn, Fort Fairfield, and Van Buren.
