    Job Description

    • Experienced team of physicians, APPs, and support staff with low turnover and excellent patient outcomes
    • Full-time, hospital-employed opportunity
    • Well supported by all specialties except pediatric psychiatry, cardiothoracic surgery, and interventional neurology
    • 24/7 hospitalist program responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
    • Schedule managed locally with flexible scheduling; team trades amongst themselves
    • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
    • St. Luke's Regional Medical Center serves 175,000 people in a three-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota
    • Annual visit volume = 31,000
    • Average number of patients per day = 89
    • Average 1.5-1.9 patients per hour
    • 40 hours of physician coverage and 27 hours of APP coverage per day
    • Work schedule = 12-15 ten-hour shifts per month
    • Level 3 Trauma Center with a 22-bed ED, 12-bed Clinical Decision Unit (managed by APPs), 10-bed fast track, and 2 trauma bays
    • Scribes available
    • No call, good work/life balance
    • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
    • Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
    • Patient-focused, friendly, and willing to collaborate in a team environment
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills

    Requirements

    • MD or DO
    • BE/BC in Emergency Medicine
    • Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
    • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
    • Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
