Neurologist, Director of Stroke
Our client, a leading healthcare organization dedicated to excellence in neurological and stroke care, is hiring a Neurologist, Director of Stroke. Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurologist to lead and oversee a comprehensive stroke program at a primary stroke center committed to delivering evidence-based, quality stroke care. Job Description
- Provide expert leadership for the hospital's Stroke Program, ensuring ongoing compliance and excellence in stroke care delivery.
- Maintain and enhance Stroke Center Certification status through adherence to regulatory standards and quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as a clinical resource by responding to acute stroke alerts, providing inpatient neurology consultations, and managing outpatient stroke clinics.
- Lead the development of stroke care protocols, participate in clinical research, and implement evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams—including medical staff, nursing, quality assurance, and emergency services—to foster seamless stroke care pathways.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting for quality improvement, patient safety, and program effectiveness.
- Serve as the Medical Liaison to community hospitals and emergency medical services, enhancing stroke care collaboration and transfer processes.
- Contribute to teaching and supervision for residents, colleagues, and medical students, promoting education and professional development within the department.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Active New York Medical License and NYS DEA certification.
- Board-certified or eligible in Neurology, with completion of a Vascular Neurology fellowship preferred.
- Minimum of five years' experience in stroke care, with at least three years in a leadership role within a stroke center.
- Proven ability to lead clinical teams, manage complex programming, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments and external partners.
- Strong motivation to innovate and improve stroke services in a fast-paced environment.
