    Ultrasound Sonographer

    The role autonomously performs complex ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages under the supervision of qualified physicians. This involves producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

    Job Description

    • Confirm imaging orders for accuracy and completeness.
    • Review patient history and supporting clinical data to ensure medical necessity.
    • Communicate with ordering physicians if additional clinical justification is needed.
    • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in inpatient, outpatient, portable, and operating room (O.R.) settings.
    • Exercise independent judgment in interpreting and analyzing ultrasound images.
    • Provide a preliminary technical impression of findings to the physician.

    Requirements

    • Experience: Evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Confirm with hiring manager.
    • Required Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • ARDMS Certification (or registry-eligible) in the following areas:
        • Abdomen
        • Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN)
        • Vascular Technology (RVT)

    Preferred Skills & Certifications

    • Additional ARDMS Registrations:
      • OB/GYN
      • Vascular Technology (RVT)
      • Abdomen

    Education Requirements

    • Minimum Education: Associate's degree in a related field.
    • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program.
    • Exception: Candidates hired before February 15, 2018, must have graduated from an accredited sonography program (per previous requirements).

    Job Details

    • Work Setting: Inpatient, Outpatient, Portable, and O.R. environments.
    • Certifications & Licenses Required: BLS, ARDMS.
