Respiratory Therapist

Job Description:

• Administer general respiratory care modalities.
• Operate independently in all adult intensive care areas.
• Function as a Code Captain in at least one patient population: Adult, Pediatric, or Neonatal.
• Develop and broaden assessment skills, communication skills, and knowledge base.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities of a shift lead and function as an alternate shift lead therapist.
• Collaborate with multiple members of a patient's care team, implementing and monitoring all therapeutic modalities per physicians' orders.
• Provide on-call staffing for department needs.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• 2 years experience as an RRT practicing in a Neonatal, Pediatric, or Adult patient population.
• Must possess and maintain licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with the State of Florida Department of Health and the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Possess Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) AND Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) preferred - must be obtained within 90 days of start.
