Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

A health services organization in New Jersey is currently seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Cardiothoracic Operating Room team at one of their community-based hospitals in Northern NJ.

Job Description

• Provide OR coverage in cardiothoracic surgery, including first assist
• Work and collaborate across the Cardiothoracic Operating Room, Cardiac Surgical ICU, Step-Down Unit, and Floor
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (Terumo & HemaPro), CABG, valve procedures, thoracotomies, and aortic surgeries
• Support post-operative care in a clinical setting
• Perform other duties, as needed

Requirements

• Assignment Length: 3+ months (1-week per month)
• Schedule: Tuesday to Friday (occasional on-call coverage for evenings & weekends)
• EMR: Epic
• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree
• NJS Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• CDS/DEA registration
• Experience in an Operating Room, First Assist, and/or Cardiac Surgery role/setting
• Skilled in surgical procedures, anatomy, EKG interpretation, and emergency response
