    Weekend Double LPN

    Now hiring for Weekend Double LPN - 7a-11pm Saturday and Sunday. Work 32 hours in a weekend and get paid for 40 hours. Also, shift differential pay of $1.00 more an hour for 3p-11p shift.

    Job Description

    • Communicate with off-going and arriving shifts of personnel to assure the continuum of quality of care.
    • Make rounds, evaluate the physical, emotional, and social needs of the residents to ensure the staff assigned provides intervention as indicated.
    • Supervise the care provided by the Nursing Assistants assigned to the unit, providing intervention and education as indicated.
    • Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to procedures.
    • Consult with physicians, receive, record, and transcribe orders as required.
    • Review resident's care plans and assure these plans are followed.
    • Document on records as per policy and procedures of the facility.

    Requirements

    • Demonstrates leadership and managerial ability.
    • Ability to organize, plan, and supervise the Nursing Assistants assigned to work a designated unit and shift.
    • Maintains effective interpersonal relationships and works well with the general public.
    • Good emotional, mental, and physical health, having sound judgment and high professional standards.
    • Willing and capable of providing emergency care as needed for any resident in the facility.
    • Courteous in working with residents, families, and employees.
    • Maintains a neat, well-groomed, and professional appearance at all times.
    • Willing to participate in the on-call schedule.
    • Willing to work preferred shifts as scheduled and assist on other shifts as needed to assure adequate staffing to meet the needs of each resident.

    Responsibilities

    • Receive report from the off-going shift and give report to the oncoming shift.
    • Assign nursing assistants and other designated personnel assuring each resident's needs will be met during the assigned shift.
    • Give report to Nursing Assistants.
    • Make rounds of the assigned unit frequently during the shift providing intervention as needed.
    • Prepare and administer medications as ordered using the 5 rights method. Reorder medications as needed in preparation for future shifts. Assess and document medication issues as per policy.
    • Complete treatments as ordered. Assess and document accordingly. Contact the physician for any treatment issues as per policy.
    • Monitor residents for risk or complications as a result of the residents' medical conditions (i.e., skin breakdown, incontinence, contractures, reduced mobility, reduced involvement in bathing, dressing, or eating, weight loss, behaviors due to change in lifestyle, etc.).
    • Observe and monitor the Nursing Assistants to assure that residents' needs are met and nurse aides' duties are performed.
    • Document on nurse's notes as per policy. Assure there is accurate and timely documentation of any unusual observation, incident, or situation.
    • Review and follow resident's plan of care.
    • Assist in the ordering and reviewing of results of laboratory tests as indicated. Notify physician of results.
    • Count required medications with oncoming and off-going shifts.
    • Keep nurse's station, medication room, and other workspaces clean and orderly.
    • Participate with month-end physician order reviews.
    • Make rounds toward end of shift to assure area is in order for the oncoming shift.
    • Review and assure there is adequate staffing for the oncoming shift. Replace known absences in a timely manner.
    • Notify the Resident and/or Resident Representative of changes in condition or changes to the plan of care.
    • Prepare incident/accident reports as needed.
