    Olathe Health Pavilion is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care, providing safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. This role integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families through the continuum of care.

    Job Description

    • Collaborate with others to integrate assessment and input of the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
    • Ensure improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning.
    • Provide direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills in decision-making and problem-solving.
    • Integrate and communicate knowledge and sensitivity to patients' psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age-specific needs.
    • Practice within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards, and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
    • Consistently meet work schedule.
    • Demonstrate critical thinking utilizing all aspects of the nursing process.
    • Maintain a safe environment for patients.
    • Coordinate health care services with hospitals, vendors, physician's offices, and other institutions.
    • Answer patient/significant others' phone calls, evaluate patients' needs, and triage patient care.
    • Provide patient/family education using available resources.
    • Act as a liaison between patients, significant others, and health team members.
    • Identify areas for professional growth.
    • Participate fully as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team.
    • Independently perform a comprehensive assessment to provide the most effective patient care for a given population.
    • Anticipate and intervene in an appropriate and timely manner when there are concerns related to patient and staff safety.
    • Communicate appropriately when interacting with patients, family members, nurses, and other medical professionals.
    • Adhere to hospital policies related to medication safety, including order writing format, correct administration considerations, double checks, and other established policies and practices.
    • Accurately assess patients'/families' readiness to learn, organize and execute an individualized teaching plan, evaluate patients' understanding using teach-back methods; modify approach as necessary.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care that recognizes changes in the patient's condition and adapts the plan as needed.
    • Delegate appropriately according to task situation and level of expertise while functioning as an independent and supportive team member.
    • Take a leadership role in building and maintaining an environment where all team members thrive.
    • Utilize technology correctly for functions related to patient care delivery, mandatory programs/competencies, and policies/procedures.
    • Seek out additional learning experiences within the practice area such as unit-specific certifications, consultation with experts, inservices/rounds, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
    • Consistently role model individualized therapeutic communication based on patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs.

    Requirements

    • High School Graduate
    • Associate Degree in Nursing
    • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing (Kansas) or compact license
    • CPR/AED/BLS - Other BLS within 14 days
    • Some units may require additional unit-specific affirmations/certifications/work experience
