    Job Title: Cath Lab Tech

    Job Description:

    • Perform all routine diagnostic and emergent therapeutic angiographic or catheterization procedures
    • Ensure equipment is functioning properly
    • Produce and evaluate data, information, and images for physician use in procedures
    • Assist team members in all aspects of patient care, including monitoring vital signs and interpreting status information
    • Function in one or more roles: monitor, scrub, or circulating technologist
    • Educate patients, family members, and cath team
    • Manage inventory and perform other assigned duties

    Requirements:

    • Must reside within a 45-minute drive from Tidelands Health Hospital for on-call requirements
    • Minimum two-year Cardiac Catheterization Lab Tech experience, including clinical time
    • Familiarity with physiological monitoring systems, sterile scrub technique, interventional and diagnostic heart catheterizations, and pacemaker implantations

    Education:

    • Graduate of a program leading to credentials as CVT, RCIS, RN, RRT, RT(R), RVT with current national registry in applicable discipline
    • Eligible for certification by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA)

    Special Skills:

    • RCIS required or must meet qualifications for certification as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) after appropriate procedures

    Other Requirements:

    • American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
    • BLS Recertification required every two years

    Physical Requirements:

    • Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating
    • Frequent standing, sitting, and walking
    • Occasional use of hands and fingers
    • Frequent talking or hearing
    • Ability to exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly
