    Licensed Mental Health Counselor

    Location: Bell County Jail - Belton, TX

    Job Description:

    • Assess, evaluate, and coordinate mental health care for incarcerated individuals
    • Formulate individualized release plans to coordinate a continuum of care
    • Assesses psychiatric emergencies and provides crisis intervention
    • Conducts evaluations for suicide intervention and prevention
    • Coordinates care with Facility and Medical staff for special needs inmates
    • Provides MAT/substance abuse counseling
    • Develops Individualized Treatment Plans for intensive behavior management
    • Promotes linkages with community mental health agencies and support services
    • Completes inmate need assessments and develops release plans
    • Maintains safety and security during clinical decisions
    • Participates in on-call responsibilities for off-hours coverage
    • Provides mental health training for jail staff
    • Completes other job duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing, or related field
    • Licensed as a Social Worker, Marriage/Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Professional Counselor
