Job Description
- Supervises all healthcare team members to include hiring, training, evaluating, and counseling within established policies and procedures
- Plans, implements, and schedules nursing services
- Provides intervention to respond to emergencies and problems
- Maintains medical charting and required documentation under scope state regulatory guidelines for appropriate licensing and corporate policies
- Assesses residents for change in level of care and coordinates billing for that level of care
- Administers and coordinates medications of residents
- Oversees and/or is responsible for, including delegation to another qualified nurse, infection control within the community
- Works closely with residents and families to develop and implement appropriate care plans
- Assists residents with medical appointments and coordinates required transportation
- Participates in rotation of on-call duty
- Follows OSHA compliance and back support procedures
- Maintains contact with physicians to facilitate medication orders, refills, supplies, or transportation
- Follows established risk management procedures for residents and team members
- Promotes the Transforming Age Culture of Excellence
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licensed as either a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state, or the ability to relocate and transfer licensure. Registered Nurse strongly preferred.
- Minimum of three years' experience in nursing; experience in assisted living and skilled nursing strongly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of state regulations for nursing in assisted living communities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership and training skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
