    Clinical Registered Dietitian

Must be open to working multiple locations, supporting patients through medical and surgical weight loss programs in a collaborative setting.     Job Description

    • Positions provide nutritional assessments, counseling, and follow-up.
    • Oversees diabetes education program.
    • Might provide any of the following based upon program, physician, and department needs: develop nutrition awareness programs, provide instruction, treatment, education materials, consultations, diet analysis, cooking demonstrations.
    • In Medical Home Practices (PCMH/CPCI), this role may also work with patients of multiple chronic disease states including diabetes, obesity, heart disease, hypertension, and well states to achieve optimal outcomes post-surgery or per consult request per physician.

    3219 Clifton Ave. Will rotate to other sites.

    Hours

    Full time, day shift. No weekends, holidays, or call.

    Requirements

    • As of 1/1/24, new practitioners are required to have a Master's Degree in Dietetics. If eligible or registered prior to 1/1/24, a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics is required.
    • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
    • CDR Registration & Ohio Licensure.
    • If needed, a dietetic limited permit is accepted upon hire; required to pass the RD exam within 4 months of hire. Applicants not on a limited permit are required to have both licensure and AND registration.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; computer application skills.
    • 1-2 years experience in a related field.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Performs relevant calculations which support the therapeutic prescription: BMI; energy/protein/fluid requirements etc.
    • Teaches patients to monitor necessary calculations and leads patients to shared decision-making during the readiness assessment.
    • Performs and records a comprehensive nutritional assessment; identifies actual and potential nutritional risk/problems associated with aging, disease states, treatment etc.
    • Evaluates laboratory and diagnostic test results for implications in malnutrition and other disease states.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of application of medication and nutrition interaction.
    • Actively participates as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team by identifying participant/caregiver needs; recommending interventions, and collaborating with team members for mutually determined solutions.
    • Completes all documentation in the EMR and submits charges to the billing process.
    • Assists with data collection so the practice may understand more fully the return on investment of interactions with patients.
