Physician - OB Hospitalist - Grand Rapids

Obstetrician/Gynecologist Physician

Trinity Health Medical Group (THMG) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist Physician to join our OB Hospitalist Team located in Grand Rapids, MI.

Job Description

• Provide in-house coverage and total management for obstetric patients including labor and delivery, obstetric emergencies, and postpartum care
• Collaborate with Obstetricians, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• On-site access to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) providing the highest level of neonatal care for the most high-risk newborns
• Rotating schedule - 24-hour shifts, average of 6-7 shifts per month (1,824 hours for a 1.0 FTE). Holidays are rotated
  • Shifts include hours of direct patient care (rounding, entering orders, triaging maternal patients, attending deliveries, managing unassigned OB patients, covering emergency GYN patients, and educating residents)
• 1 OB hospitalist on duty per shift; will work alongside experienced labor & delivery RNs, Unit Clerk, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Manager and Director, Neonatologists, NICU APPs, access to a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician

Requirements

• 3 years of OB/GYN experience required
• Physicians must be board certified in their specialty, or board eligible and will become board certified within 2 years of becoming board eligible
• State of Michigan license required at time of employment
• DEA license
• ACLS & BLS certified
