UNCPN Internal Medicine at Goldsboro is seeking a dedicated and skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support our internal medicine team with a strong emphasis on acute care and complex case management. This is a great opportunity to practice in a collaborative, hospital-affiliated outpatient setting where patients present with a wide range of urgent and high-acuity needs.

Job Description

• Evaluate and treat acute medical conditions and urgent care needs in adult and geriatric populations
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other team members to develop rapid, effective treatment plans
• Provide care for patients recently discharged from the hospital or ED, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing readmissions
• Manage short-term follow-up appointments for acute illnesses and exacerbations of chronic disease
• Participate in triage, diagnostics, treatment, and management of higher-acuity cases within the clinic
• Monday-Friday schedule, with no nights or weekends required

Requirements

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina (or eligible)
• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
• Acute care or internal medicine experience preferred; however, new graduates with strong clinical training in acute care settings are encouraged to apply
• BLS and ACLS certification required
