    Job Description

    • A Nurse Practitioner functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost-effective care to patients within the APP's scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician.
    • This role focuses on delivering evidence-based, developmentally sensitive mental health care to children and adolescents in a supportive outpatient setting. Emphasis is placed on early intervention, family collaboration, and integrated care.
    • Conduct psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents (ages 3-18).
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and care teams.
    • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications using a developmentally appropriate approach.
    • Provide psychoeducation to caregivers on diagnoses, medications, and behavioral strategies.
    • Collaborate closely with Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
    • Maintain timely and thorough documentation in the EMR system.
    • Engage in clinical team meetings and peer consultations.

    Requirements

    • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
    • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina.
    • Board certification if required by the Department. DEA. Active Psychiatric Mental Health NP license in North Carolina (or eligibility for licensure).
    • No prior experience required. Experience with pediatric patients preferred. Strong understanding of developmental stages and trauma-informed care. Excellent communication skills with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
