Job Description
- Anesthetizes patients undergoing surgical, medical, obstetrical, diagnostic, psychiatric, or resuscitative procedures either by general, regional, or monitored anesthesia.
- Assesses patient pre-operatively in a timely and efficient manner. This includes performance of history and physical, development of anesthesia plan of care, documentation of assessment and plan, explanation of care, risks and benefits to patient and family, assembly of equipment and drugs. Meets annual departmental quality metrics for turnover times, on-time starts and QI submissions.
- Attends continuing education and professional meetings, participates in institutional and departmental committees, and contributes to the clinical learning experience of other health care professionals.
- Contributes to performance improvement. Evaluates problem areas, plans and implements measures to assure improvement in patient outcomes, assists in collection of data and participates in Impact Care activities.
- Maintains anesthesia records, Impact Care reports and other documents in a legible manner.
- Provides anesthesia. This includes performing ASA-approved checklist of equipment, providing a safe environment for the patient, administering anesthesia in accordance with the Department of Anesthesiology standards of care, placing appropriate lines and monitors, adjusting care and notifying appropriate personnel in abnormal situations, transporting patient at the end of the case, reporting pertinent information, documenting anesthesia care.
Requirements
- Completion of a Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
- Certified or eligible for certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- No prior experience required.
Incentives
- This position qualifies for a $100,000 commitment incentive, paid in four (4) installments over two (2) year work commitment.
- Student CRNAs accepting a position 12 months or more from their start date are eligible to receive up to $12,000 in advance for a pre-hire commitment incentive bonus, paid in twelve (12) installments over one (1) year.
- Up to $40,000 in tuition loan assistance (amount based on loan amount). Documentation of outstanding loan amount required. Paid in six (6) installments over a three (3) year work period.
- This position is also eligible for up to $10,000 in relocation assistance (based on location).
