    Registered Nurse - Motility Procedures

    This position qualifies for our UNC Hospitals RN Incentive Program, which includes up to $20,000 commitment incentive or up to $25,000 tuition loan forgiveness. In addition, this position is also eligible for up to $10,000 in relocation assistance (based on location).

    We are seeking a skilled nurse to join our Motility Procedures team! The Motility Unit consists of two procedure rooms where the Motility nurse independently performs advanced motility procedures, including:

    • High-resolution Manometry
    • Impedance Manometry
    • Anorectal Manometry
    • Esophageal Manometry
    • Antroduodenal Manometry

    In addition to performing these procedures, the nurse will collaborate with our exceptional healthcare team to ensure high-quality care. They will also provide patient and family education about the procedures and offer guidance on pre- and post-procedure care.

    The ideal candidate will have an interest in motility procedures, excellent communication skills for patient education, proficiency in EMR systems for documentation and billing, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    Nursing staff in this department work Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 16:00, with no weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts.

    Job Description

    • Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
    • Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
    • Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
    • Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in revision of plan of care.
    • Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems.
    • Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care.
    • Reads journals that contain studies or articles that may be applicable to practice.

    Requirements

    • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
    • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
    • One (1) year of nursing experience.
