    Job Description:

    • Work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients
    • Provide clinical leadership for other staff and assume relief charge duties when designated
    • Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care
    • Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures
    • Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups

    Responsibilities:

    • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients
    • Work within Hospitals, Nursing division, and departmental policies
    • Implement and document individualized care plans with the healthcare team
    • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent
    • Participate in orientation and precepting new personnel
    • Assist with or institute emergency measures for adverse developments
    • Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information
    • Administer medication, including IV, via the Seven Rights
    • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment
    • Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs
    • Follow patient safety-related policies and procedures

    Patient Safety:

    • Demonstrate a proactive approach to patient safety
    • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions that may risk patients
    • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns and medical errors
    • Encourage patients to participate in their own care

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
    • No minimum experience required; Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

    Credentials:

    • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Providers required within 30 days
    • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
    • Nationally Certified in area of specialty preferred

    Physical Conditions:

    • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally

    Working Conditions:

    • Significant hazard exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials requiring PPE
