Join our dynamic team as an Emergency Medicine APP at Ascension St. John Medical Center Emergency Department. This facility operates 24/7 and handles an emergency department volume of 48,000 patients annually, with a trauma designation of Level II.
Job Description
- Work in a fast-paced environment with a staffing model that includes 64 hours of physician coverage and 26 hours of APP coverage.
- Utilize Cerner EMR for patient management.

- Average daily encounters: 266.
- 24/7 onsite physician support.
- Staffing model includes 144 hours of physician coverage and 33 hours of APP coverage.

- Work collaboratively with the Integrated Acute Care team (emergency, critical care, and hospital medicine service lines also managed by USACS).
Critical Care
- ICU daily volume: 46.
- Closed ICU model with staffing that includes 24 hours of intensivists, 72 hours of dedicated ICU-hospitalists, and 60 hours of APP coverage.
- Utilize Cerner EMR for patient management.
- Work collaboratively with the Integrated Acute Care team (emergency, critical care, and hospital medicine service lines also managed by USACS).
For CV ICU:
- Seeking a board-certified/board-eligible critical care physician (intensivist) with experience in cardiovascular critical care. St. John's has a very active cardiac/cardiovascular surgery program. The intensivist will lead the team in the ICU to manage the patients. The team also includes experienced dedicated ICU-hospitalists and advanced nurse practitioners available 24 hours/day. USACS Tele-Critical Care will support the night teams with board-certified intensivists.
- Shifts: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. (12 hours), 14 shifts/month.
For MICU/SICU:
- Seeking a board-certified/board-eligible pulmonary/critical care or critical care physician (intensivist) to work as a consultant in the medical and surgical ICU units at Ascension St. John's. The team includes dedicated ICU-hospitalists and advanced nurse practitioners providing coverage 24 hours per day. USACS Tele-Critical Care will support the night teams with board-certified intensivists.
- Shifts: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. (12 hours), 14 shifts/month.
