Emergency Medicine Physician
Location: Hazleton, PA
Job Description:
- Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
- Inpatient: Back-up airway responsibilities in situations where anesthesiology is unable to assist with an intubation (incredibly rare)
- Outpatient: Approximately 35,000 visits annually with a 13.26% admission rate and a 4% transfer rate
- The site has 24/7 in-house OB-GYN and anesthesiology coverage and holds a Level 4 trauma designation
- Physicians should be procedurally skilled and comfortable taking care of pediatric, traumatically injured, and critically ill patients
- Procedures required: Standard emergency medicine procedures including but not limited to intubation, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, minor procedures, and FAST examination
- Supporting staff: 36 hours of APC coverage every day
- Schedule: 12 shifts per month
- Shifts: Mon-Fri: 7am-5pm, 12pm-10pm, 4pm-1am, 10pm-7am. Sat-Sun: 7am-7pm, 11am-11pm, 7pm-7am
- No call required
