Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Clinical Specialist
Location: Leesburg, VA
Job Description:
- Provide DME services to the cardiovascular and sleep care community
- Aid sleep studies coordinator and sleep department manager
- Travel to one or two offices as needed
- No nights, weekends, or holidays
Responsibilities:
- Perform, track, and document DME setups
- Assist providers with patients in the office
- Download and review current PAP compliance data
- Prepare sleep education paperwork
- Travel with sleep provider
- Perform all services related to DME
- Review patient history and verify medical orders
- Follow insurance requirements for DME services
- Troubleshoot PAP machines and masks
- Implement interventions per sleep provider instruction
- Deliver sleep and DME supplies
- Demonstrate skills for portable sleep monitoring equipment
- Collect documentation for insurance authorization
- Coordinate changes to patient prescriptions with DME provider
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years prior RPSGT or Respiratory Therapist and/or DME Technician experience preferred
- Strong background in Sleep Medicine or DME preferred
- Experience with Brightree preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred
- Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
