Job Description
- Administer medications, as prescribed, and under the direction of a licensed nurse
- Promptly report to the nurse a resident's request/need for PRN medications
- Promptly report to the nurse any adverse or concerning reactions to medications
- Provide exceptional personal service and daily care to residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff management, and families
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Provide physical resident care to include all aspects of personal hygiene and grooming
- Answer call lights in a timely manner and respond accordingly to the resident's needs
- Assist in maintaining acceptable nutrition for residents and document meal intake, as prescribed
- Know proper technique for first aid
- Complete documentation of medication administration
- Assist in maintaining a therapeutic environment for the residents
- Motivate and encourage resident involvement in activities
- Assist residents to and from activities
- Lift, turn, and reposition residents as needed
- Perform any other duties as assigned or delegated by the Director of Care or designee
Requirements
- Current valid Medication Aide Certificate authorized by the Ohio Board of Nursing
- CPR Certified
- Nurse Aide Certification
