    Job Description

    • Provide exceptional care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, severe mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments, prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, and develop tailored treatment plans.
    • Facilitate care coordination, manage crises, and lead treatment teams to ensure client-centered, seamless support.
    • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), participate in case conferences, and provide education and consultation to patients, staff, and the community.
    • Enhance clinical systems, support program development, and improve patient outcomes through data-driven approaches to care.
    • May include on-call duties.

    Requirements

    • M.D. with board certification in Psychiatry and active clinical licensure that is in good standing with the State of Vermont.
    • Authority to prescribe psychotropic and other controlled medications.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, with experience providing best practice psychiatric care and addictions treatment to patients.
    • Understanding of and commitment to advancing the WCMHS mission and supporting the provision of collaborative and inclusive mental health, developmental disability, and substance use services.
    • Familiarity with Vermont's mental health system and regulations.
    • Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessments including psychiatric history, course of illness, response to treatment, mental status examination, and 5 Axis DSM V diagnoses.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information accurately and understandably.
    • Proficiency in utilizing an electronic medical records system.
    • Commitment to following and adhering to program and agency policies, practices, and procedures.
    • Comprehensive understanding of confidentiality in all work-related matters.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong, productive professional relationships with clients, their families/caregivers, and co-workers.
    • Ability and willingness to proactively prepare for, respond to, and adapt to change in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to navigate conflicts and challenges with respect and a solutions-oriented approach.
    • Problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain a calm demeanor and make sound decisions in challenging situations.

    Compensation and Benefits

    This full-time position offers an annualized salary of $185,000 - $200,000 and excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance; generous paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match.
