Job Description
- Enhance the clinical care and quality of life of our residents and ensure that all resident rights are protected.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Check all residents daily to ensure that prescribed treatment is being properly administered by nursing personnel/assistants and to evaluate their physical and emotional status.
- Keep the Director of Nursing informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters.
- Implement recommended changes as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, etc., as established by the facility's policies and procedures.
- Complete all Licensed Registered Nurses required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident's admission, discharge, transfer, etc. File in the resident's chart and/or forward to the appropriate department.
- Give and receive nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
- Investigate complaints and grievances and make necessary oral/written reports to the Director of Nursing.
- Present a professional image to residents and families through dress, behavior, and speech.
- Adhere to our policies and standards.
Requirements
- Certification as a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
- A caring and loving personality and demeanor.
- Leadership and mentorship skills.
- The ability to work your scheduled shift.
- The ability to read, write, and speak English.
