Job Description
- Prioritize and deliver basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.
- Perform and document vital signs, measure and record intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc.
- Transfer patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.
- Report any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel.
- Assist in preparing unit, patient rooms, and patient beds for receiving patient admissions.
- Maintain bed and room in a clean, neat, safe, and comfortable manner.
- Remove supplies and equipment not in use; place furnishings and equipment out of the path in order to provide a safe, neat, and organized area.
- Adhere to patient rounding expectations and standards.
- Promptly and appropriately respond to patient and family calls and requests.
- May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Two (2) years' experience in an inpatient hospital setting is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Currently state CNA certification is preferred.
