    Radiologist Assistant

    Join our team as a Radiologist Assistant, where you will perform patient assessments, manage patient care, and assist the Radiologist in a diagnostic imaging environment. This role involves performing routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an advanced skill level.

    Job Description

    • Review the patient's medical record to verify the appropriateness of a specific exam or procedure and report significant findings to the Radiologist.
    • Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history.
    • Explain procedures to patients or significant others, including a description of the risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
    • Obtain informed consent and ensure patients can communicate with the Radiologist if they have questions.
    • Determine if patients have followed instructions in preparation for the exam (e.g., diet, premedications).
    • Assess risk factors that may contraindicate the procedure (e.g., health history, medications, pregnancy, psychological indicators, alternative medicines) and review assessments with the Radiologist.
    • Perform additional procedures as deemed appropriate by the Radiologist.
    • Position and transfer patients safely and comfortably, immobilizing them as necessary while practicing radiation safety procedures.
    • Evaluate images for completeness and diagnostic quality, recommending additional images as required.
    • Communicate the Radiologist's report to referring physicians consistent with ACR Communication Guidelines.
    • Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients and document procedures in appropriate records.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree if RRA certification is earned before 1/1/2023 required or Master's Degree if RRA certification is earned on or after 1/1/2023 required.

    Work Experience:

    • 3 years Registered Radiologic Technologist required and 1 year Registered Radiologist Assistant (will consider new graduates) required.

    Licenses:

    • Registered Technologist-Radiography - ARRT upon hire required.
    • Registered Radiologist Assistant - ARRT upon hire required.

    Courses and Training:

    • Accredited Radiologist Assistant program; appropriate ongoing continuing education credits upon hire required.
