    Imaging Information Management Specialist

    Join our team as an Imaging Information Management Specialist, where you will perform various duties related to the communication of non-routine findings, telephone management, and processing requests from the WellSpan Release of Information department. You will assist Radiologists with various tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment.

    Job Description

    • Process release of information requests generated by the WellSpan Release of Information department for legal and/or medical purposes.
    • Perform a precise and exhaustive search of patient imaging records.
    • Prepare a comprehensive inventory of all requested imaging records.
    • Prepare requested communication and records to be released for legal purposes.
    • Process de-identified CD requests utilized in research programs.
    • Research, analyze, and propose solutions regarding Imaging Information Management processes.
    • Contact patients and other requestors to resolve issues with requests when necessary.
    • Provide accurate communication of Imaging non-routine findings to the ordering provider.
    • Answer and manage incoming phone calls to the Imaging Information Management department, providing exceptional customer service.
    • Process requests for the duplication of images for continuity of care.
    • Process requests for importing outside images into the Picture Archive Computer System.
    • Process requests to disseminate exam information to designated outside radiology services for timely interpretation of Imaging exams.
    • Assist Radiologists with various duties such as importing images and monitoring unread worklists.
    • Enter and retrieve data from established computer files using various software applications.
    • Scan documents into various software applications and ensure accuracy through a QA process.
    • Maintain quality customer service by ensuring accurate documentation on required Imaging forms and/or patient records.
    • Coordinate mail and other related Imaging items to off-site facilities.
    • Perform various clerical duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, copying, sorting/distributing mail, setting up/maintaining files, and preparing reports.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED Required
    • Associate's Degree in Medical Secretary, Medical Assistant, or related field preferred

    Work Experience:

    • Less than 1 year in a healthcare setting required

    Required Courses and Training:

    • Medical terminology within 180 days required

    • Excellent computer skills
    • Typing and filing skills
    • Ability to multitask
