    Internal Medicine Physician

    Join our team to provide hospital-based clinical and administrative services involving primary medical care to patients in an internal medicine practice setting.

    Job Description

    • Provides internal medicine services at designated hospital.
    • Provides in-hospital patient care and consultations as required.
    • Participates in non-traditional inpatient services such as admitting/managing patients at Select Specialty Hospital and in the pre-surgical assessment program and others as the need arises when assigned to York Hospital.
    • Assists with the operation of the resident and medical student teaching program for the Department of Medicine.
    • May assist with resident recruitment and evaluation as required.
    • Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested.
    • Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor, and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
    • Participates in performance improvement programs and Clinical Effectiveness Teams (CETs) and other WellSpan initiatives as requested.
    • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
    • Performs other related duties as identified.

    Requirements

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
    • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon or Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine upon hire required.
    • Diplomate of a specialty appropriate Board upon hire required.
    • Completion of a specialty appropriate residency upon hire required.
    • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of the Hospital upon hire required.
