    Join our team as a Radiologist, utilizing imaging technology and radioactive materials to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries.

    Job Description

    • Provides tele-radiologic services for the imaging department and maintains immediate contact information during assigned work hours.
    • Communicates with the imaging department during times of extended interrupted tele-radiologic connection.
    • Obtains patients' histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, and by communicating with referring clinicians.
    • Prepares comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.
    • Performs and interprets the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), nuclear cardiology treadmill studies, mammography, and ultrasound.
    • Reviews and transmits images and information using picture archiving and communications systems.
    • Communicates examination results and diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, and families as standardized by the imaging department.
    • Evaluates medical information to determine patients' risk factors (such as allergies to contrast agents) and makes decisions regarding the appropriateness of procedures.
    • Provides counseling to radiologic patients to explain the processes, risks, benefits, and alternative treatments.
    • Confers with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses.
    • Develops and monitors procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images.
    • Administers radiopaque substances by injection, orally, and as enemas to render internal structures and organs visible on x-ray films and fluoroscopic screens.
    • Participates in continuing education activities to maintain and develop expertise.
    • Participates in quality improvement activities including discussions of areas where risk of error is high.

    • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
    • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
    • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

    Work Experience:

    • Experience obtained during residency. Required
    • Significant experience with computed tomography, magnetic imaging, and/or nuclear medicine/positron emission tomography. Required

    Licenses:

    • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

    Courses and Training:

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible. Upon Hire Required
    • Graduate of an accredited Radiology residency. Upon Hire Required
