    Family Practice Residency Program Director

    Assists with the administration and direction of the Family Practice Residency Program in accordance with appropriate requirements, standards, and regulations. Assists in the review of quality, adequacy, and appropriateness of resident education within the program.

    Job Description

    • Assists with reviews of the quality of resident education and makes changes as necessary.
    • Improves resident curriculum, including the arrangement of rotations.
    • Coordinates and administers the resident inpatient service and medical student activities.
    • Serves as attending physician on the inpatient service.
    • Supervises and teaches residents and medical students.
    • Participates in teaching rounds and consultations to other services.
    • Assists with resident recruitment and evaluation.
    • Maintains a private practice at the Hart Family Practice Center.
    • Participates in research and other scholarly activities.

    Common Expectations

    • Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested.
    • Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor, and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
    • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

    Requirements

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
    • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon upon hire required or Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine upon hire required.
    • Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice upon hire required.
    • Completion of a Family Practice residency upon hire required.
    • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital upon hire required.
