    Technician Supervisor

    The Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing ophthalmic clinic duties while managing clinic staff.

    Job Description

    • Practices with ethical and legal guidelines
    • Participates in maintaining a safe environment for staff and patients
    • Must be able to travel
    • Ensures travel equipment is maintained
    • Coordinates team schedules
    • Manages and oversees technician performance
    • Ensures patients are screened and appropriate tests are performed
    • Ensures patient paperwork (forms, insurance, letters, etc.) is complete
    • Assesses charts for completion and compliance before filing
    • Maintains patient confidentiality
    • Returns patient phone calls
    • Fills in wherever needed
    • Acts as a team player and participates with others to accomplish tasks
    • Makes a positive contribution to morale
    • Seeks educational opportunities and accepts responsibility for own professional growth and development
    • Collaborates with Human Resources regarding employee issues
    • Scribes
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Work Environment

    The Technician Supervisor will work primarily in a clinic setting. Travel is required.

    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
    • Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to lift patients with assistance (occasionally)

    Travel

    Travel is required to satellite locations and outside trainings.

    Requirements Education/Experience

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Previous supervisory/management experience
    • Experience in the healthcare field

    Preferred Education/Experience

    • Ophthalmic Technician experience strongly preferred
    • Surgical Technician training strongly preferred

    Certifications

    COA required and MA certification
