Job Description:
- Start Date: Mid-January 2025 (Temp privileges available for expedited start).
- Schedule:
- Weekdays:
- 1 MDA on vacation weekly (except 2 weeks per year).
- 1 MDA post-call daily.
- 1 MDA on call daily.
- 1 MDA works day shift only.
- 1 MDA serves as 2nd call daily.
- Weekends:
- Alternating 1st and 2nd call coverage among MDAs.
- Remaining MDAs have the weekend off.
- Weekdays:
Call Details:
- 1st Call: Provider may go home after cases finish; returns only for additional cases or central line needs.
- 2nd Call: Generally stays late; back-up for non-cardiac 1st call MDAs.
- Call Ratio: 1 in 5.
Facility Information:
- Practice Setting: Hospital-based; surgical services department.
- Trauma Level: Level II trauma center.
- EMR: Cerner PowerChart.
- Surgical Volume: 13 cases/day average.
- Operating Rooms: 12.
- ER Volume: 25k annually.
- Patient Demographic: Primarily adult/geriatric; no complex adolescent or pediatric cases.
Requirements:
- Board Certified: Required.
- Cardiac Experience: Required.
- Cardiac Cases: Must be willing and able to perform independently (list years of experience).
- Procedures:
- General surgical (adult & pediatric), minor nerve blocks, spinal/epidural anesthesia, open heart, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and regional anesthesia.
- Acute pain management, ventilation management, and insertion of central lines, arterial lines, and PA catheters.
- Volume/BP Management: Acute evaluation and management required.
- COVID Vaccine
Credentialing Information:
- Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days.
Additional Requirements:
- Active or eligible license (open to all).
- Availability for full-time coverage (note start date).
- Must supervise experienced CRNAs (100% supervision).
