    Pediatric Locum Coverage

    Location: Pendleton, Oregon

    Job Description:

    • Provide 24/7 call coverage during specified dates
    • Practice inpatient pediatric and neonatal care, including OB consultation and ED admissions
    • 24-hour call coverage with 1-4 hours of onsite rounding

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct daily rounds, managing pediatric and newborn patients for approximately 1-4 hours onsite
    • Handle on-call responsibilities, including newborn care from OB, admissions consults from ED, and med surge calls for neonate and pediatric patients
    • Expertise required in neonatal resuscitation, intubation, lines, and emergency medication to stabilize and transfer if needed
    • Manage approximately 1 admission per month from the ED
    • Handle varied patient volume, typically 0-6 per day
    • Provide solo coverage with no NICU support, stabilizing and transferring sick babies as necessary

    Requirements:

    • Board certification in Pediatrics or IM/FM with significant pediatric and neonatal experience if IM/FM
    • Oregon license required
    • Completion of a 3-year Pediatric Residency Program
    • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
    • Experience managing inpatient care for at least 24 patients in the last 24 months
    • Clean malpractice/background required for quick credentialing

    Additional Information:

    • Core privileges for Pediatrics: Treat patients from 0-18 years, manage admissions, and handle procedures such as venipuncture, laceration repair, and treatment of complex illnesses
    • Care privileges for newborns: Provide care for all newborns, including those with life-threatening conditions
