    • Practice Setting: Hospital-based (includes 4 hours of clinical time)
    • Patient Demographics: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
    • Average Surgical Cases: Based on ER patient flow
    • Trauma Level: III
    • EMR System: EPIC
    • OR Facilities: 9 operating rooms
    • Current Team: 4 general surgeons

    Procedural Requirements:

    • General Surgical Cases:
      • Adult and trauma cases
      • Laser-certified procedures
      • Chest wall/pleural procedures
      • Ventilation management, central line insertion, PA catheter placement, chest tube insertion
      • Aneurysm repairs
      • Abdominal and vascular access devices, AV shunt, hernioplasty
      • Cholecystectomy, Nissen fundoplication
      • Upper and lower sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy

    Requirements:

    • Board Certification: ABOS or AOBOS - Required
    • Licensing:
      • Active Virginia license - Required (must already be active)
      • BLS and ACLS certification - Required
    • COVID Vaccination: Preferred (must have before credentialing)
    • Background: Clean background highly preferred
