    Weekend Baylor Nurse

    Work every weekend. Work 24 hours, get paid for 31 hours. Shifts available: 7a-7p or 7p-7a Saturday and Sunday. Pay range: $33.87-48.00.

    Job Description

    • Obtain report from nurse being relieved and record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary.
    • Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary.
    • Conduct resident rounds, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action.
    • Administer and document medication, enteral nutrition, and treatment per physician order and accurately record all care provided and observations daily.
    • Perform comprehensive assessments of each resident on unit.
    • Review and approve admission and re-admission nursing assessments completed by an LPN.
    • Develop care plan based on each resident's assessment.
    • Obtain physician orders and any revisions for all treatment and medications needed.
    • Assess on a weekly basis the skin condition, stage, size, site, depth, color, drainage, and odor of condition.
    • Render immediate assistance to any resident in need.
    • Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
    • Provide clinical supervision of nursing assistants providing direct patient care.
    • Assume responsibility for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the assigned unit.
    • Counsel nursing assistants and communicate clearly with Clinical Nurse Managers and/or Director of Nursing if issues arise.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to assure that high-quality resident care is maintained.
    • Prepare nurse assistant assignments and explain all pertinent resident care.
    • Supervise distribution of nourishments.
    • Supervise the removal of all postural supports.
    • Order, receive, and document medication according to facility procedure.
    • Supervise response to residents' calls for assistance and respond to call lights as necessary.
    • Ensure that all physician renewal orders and physician documentation are timely and appropriate.

    Requirements

    • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse school of nursing.
    • Current and active RN/LPN license in the state of Massachusetts.
    • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with AHS or ARC standards.
    • Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing required.
