Job Description:
- Authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for nursing care delivery through the nursing process
- Apply competent clinical knowledge skills and independent nursing judgment
- Provide care relevant to patient needs, considering growth and development across the lifespan
- Ability to assess and interpret patient data for age-specific needs
- Provide professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting
Requirements:
- Current unencumbered licensure with the appropriate state board, or multi-state licensure through the eNLC
- Graduate nurse must obtain licensure within 60 days of hire
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire
- Less than 12 months of nursing experience
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and continuity of care through documentation and handoff tools/processes
- Create and implement a plan of care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation
- Recognize patient safety concerns and use appropriate resources
- Provide education based on patient’s unique learning needs
- Incorporate patient individuality and mutuality in care delivery
- Perform adequate patient assessment and documentation
- Utilize Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in nursing care
Physical Requirements:
- Minimize manual lifting of patients, limit safe handling to 35 pounds
- Heavy work requiring strength, stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials over 40 lbs
- Normal visual acuity and hearing range required
Working Environment:
- Possible exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases
- May work protracted or irregular hours
- Work with or near deceased individuals and electrical hazards associated with patient care equipment

- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and resolve conflicts
- Competent clinical practice and critical thinking skills
- Flexibility in response to work volume and scheduling changes
