    Job Description:

    • Provides technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures utilizing sterile and aseptic technique.
    • Acquires all imaging and post-processing.
    • Provides emergency services on call.

    Requirements:

    • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography for West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations.
    • Radiologist Technologist through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners, or applicable state where services will be performed.
    • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
    • For Pennsylvania locations: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
    • Obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS) within one year of hire.

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Monitors and interprets Hemodynamic monitoring.
    • Observes sterile technique while assembling supplies necessary for physicians and other lab personnel.
    • Maintains the confidentiality of patient and unit information.
    • Prepares entry site applicable to the procedure using sterile technique.
    • Continuously monitors patient's ECG and blood pressure, documenting and advising the physician of any and all activity.
    • Participates in the on-call rotation of the laboratory and remains available for emergent procedures 24 hours a day.
    • Acts as the laboratory's code team by initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillators under physician supervision.
    • Correctly documents all procedures performed and utilizes the inventory control system.
    • Participates in educational and in-service opportunities.
    • Instructs radiography students in the clinical setting.
    • Maintains specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures.
    • Participates in Inventory Management of the department.
    • Checks and prepares the patient prior to procedure.
    • Participates in performance improvement activities.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for long periods of time while wearing lead aprons.
    • Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 pounds.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to differentiate various shades of gray as depicted on a black and white television monitor or photograph.

    Working Environment:

    • The work environment is clinical by nature.
    • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation. The noise level is usually moderate.
    • Maintains Radiation safety.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to communicate with physicians and peers on a professional level.
    • Knowledgeable in Sterile Technique.
    • Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, and transmitting images to data storage system.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, operating manuals, product information, or regulations.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization of variables.
