    Radiologic Technologist

    Location: Morgantown, West Virginia

    Job Description:

    • Provides clinical radiologic care using radiographic imaging modalities and procedures in cardiac, electrophysiology, vascular, and neurovascular areas.
    • Offers technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures utilizing sterile and aseptic techniques.
    • Acquires all imaging and post-processing.
    • Provides emergency services on call.
    • Engages in a team environment while providing care to patients in high-stress situations.

    Requirements:

    • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 6 months of hire.
    • Current West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technologist License.
    • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
    • Obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS) within one year of hire.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Monitors and interprets hemodynamic monitoring.
    • Observes sterile technique while assembling supplies necessary for procedures.
    • Maintains the confidentiality of patient and unit information.
    • Prepares entry site applicable to the procedure using sterile technique.
    • Monitors patient's ECG and blood pressure, documenting and advising the physician as necessary.
    • Participates in the on-call rotation and remains available for emergent procedures.
    • Acts as the laboratory’s code team under physician supervision.
    • Documents all procedures performed and uses the inventory control system.
    • Instructs radiography students in clinical settings.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for long periods while wearing lead aprons.
    • Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 pounds.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods.

    Working Environment:

    • Clinical work environment.
    • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
    • Maintains radiation safety.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to communicate professionally with physicians and peers.
    • Knowledgeable in sterile technique.
    • Proficient in acquiring, archiving, and transmitting images to data storage systems.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and other relevant materials.
    • Ability to solve practical problems with limited variable standardization.
