Collaborate with obstetric providers to compile perinatal patient outcomes and review prenatal and postpartum quality care metrics with the OBGYN team. **Cardiac Sonographer**

The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound examinations to define and document anatomy and physiology of the heart, identify or rule out congenital anomalies, and assess ventricular function in pre and post-operative patients. 

**Job Description**

- Assists in planning case methodology and conducts comprehensive examinations in non-invasive lab as needed.
- Analyzes test results and prepares preliminary diagnoses and findings for physicians' review.
- Establishes supportive relationships with patients and families.
- Identifies patients' and families' specific needs and incorporates them into patient care as appropriate.
- Explains examination procedures to patients/parents and notifies them of scheduling problems or changes.

**Requirements**

- Completion of high school or equivalent education.
- Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program that includes one year of clinical experience in pediatric and/or adult echocardiography.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) certification (adult or pediatric) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). New graduates must obtain certification within one year from the date of graduation.
- A current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) in accordance with American Heart Association standards is required.
