    Root House Therapist

    Job Description:

    • Provide therapy and case management services to clients in need of AOD treatment services.
    • Provide substance abuse counseling services to residential clients as required by the specific programs.
    • Perform services including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, long-term counseling, psycho-education, case management, advocacy, and follow-up.
    • Conduct diagnostic assessments; provide diagnostic formulations and treatment for AoD clients following licensure standards.
    • Determine a client's appropriateness for services using the DSM-V/ICD-10 criteria for substance abuse and/or dependence.
    • Develop individualized treatment plans with clients, defining plan of services and interventions.
    • Provide individual and group therapy according to the client's treatment needs. Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
    • Document clinical service delivery, maintaining accurate records and reports regarding the clients' histories and progress, services provided, and other required information in a timely manner, meeting all appropriate documentation guidelines.
    • Identify program needs and suggest improvements to the Clinical Director, and Program Manager of Root House. Collaborate in the development and implementation of emerging evidence-based programming.
    • Coordinate activities with courts, probation officers, community services, and other post-treatment agencies.
    • Attend staff meetings for agency communication, clinical consultation, and training.
    • Manage appropriate size caseload and maintain required 50% productivity standard.
    • Abide by all professional, certification, and corporate ethical standards in performance of duties.
    • Provide outreach to and coordinate program services with healthcare providers, social services, and legal services as needed.
    • Ensure program goal achievement and assist in creating and maintaining a positive program image in the community.
    • Comply with agency policies and procedures, certifying agency regulations, and federal, state, and local requirements.

    Requirements:

    • Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
    • Must possess active state licensure or certification.
    • Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple health and criminal justice professionals.
    • Knowledge of family, community, and human service issues, organizational functioning, and operations.
    • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).
    • Knowledge of 12-step group theory and participation.

    Educational/Licensure Requirements:

    • Graduate degree in counseling or other related field.
    • Appropriate licensure in the State of Ohio: LSW, LPC, LISW, LPCC.

    Experience Requirements:

    • LPC eligible; knowledge of 12-step group theory and participation.
