    Job Description:

    • Provides clinical assessment/problem identification, crisis interventions, individual, family and group therapy, and case management.
    • Develops and monitors treatment plans, monitors treatment progress, documents significant interactions, and maintains clinical charts and other reporting data.
    • Provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for behavioral health clients.
    • Provides clinically appropriate therapy, utilizing best practices whenever possible.
    • Engages in departmental activities, solves problems, participates in strategic planning, and contributes positively to workplace morale.
    • Participates in on-call crisis rotation after hours and assists with walk-in crises during business hours as assigned.
    • Works collaboratively with courts, law enforcement, physicians, hospital staff, Department of Family Services, Probation Offices, Campbell County School District, and other community agencies.
    • Maintains clinical documentation as required by department policy, community mental health and substance abuse standards, and Medicaid policies.
    • Maintains competence in multicultural issues and demonstrates respect for diverse cultural backgrounds.
    • Adheres to policies and procedures for Behavioral Health services, Kid Clinic, and Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
    • Engages in departmental quality assurance and utilization management activities, including monthly chart reviews.
    • Provides community-based psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and families as applicable.
    • Maintains professional licensure through required educational and training experiences.
    • Participates in promoting mental health and/or the prevention of substance abuse.
    • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
    • Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Education: A master's degree in a mental health discipline or related field is required.
    • Licensure: Licensed or license-eligible as a licensed mental health professional is required. If not licensed at the time of hire, must obtain licensure or provisional licensure within one month of hire.
    • Certifications Required: See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.
    • Experience: Preferred, not required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR) including professional licensure.
    • Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to HIPPA, CFR 42 and 45, EMTALA, etc.
    • Achieves a minimum productivity of 1,200 client hours.
    • Able to relate to clients, staff, other employees, employees of community agencies, and the public in a manner that facilitates delivery of clinical services.
    • Able to assess, appraise, evaluate, and understand complex mental health concepts and client functioning.
    • Able to communicate to clients, professionals, employees, and the public at a level appropriate to the circumstances.
    • Computer knowledge, including the ability to enter material into electronic records, and operate fax, computer, and copy machines.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of developmental stages and applies developmental theories/concepts when planning and implementing care for the appropriate age of the patient.
    • Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in the following age groups: Pediatric (Age 1-11), Adolescent (12-18), Adult (19-64), Geriatric (Age 65 and older).
