Office Assistant
ChristianaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology at Elkton is looking for an Office Assistant. ChristianaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology at Elkton is located at 137 West High Street, Suite 3B in Elkton, Maryland. ChristianaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology at Elkton provides specialized care before, during, and after pregnancy. Our physicians also treat a range of conditions affecting women's reproductive systems and overall health, such as breast and cervical cancers, anemia, depression, hormone imbalance, incontinence, osteoporosis, ovarian cysts/cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, and urinary tract infections. We see an average of 40 to 70 patients daily.
You will join a fantastic team of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, licensed practical nurses, and medical assistants.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Job Description
As an office assistant, you will be involved with scheduling appointments, interacting with patients professionally, and ensuring patient confidentiality. You will collect demographic and financial information, process referrals, and verify insurance reimbursement eligibility. An office assistant will be involved in the day-end reconciliation of appointments and payments received. You will need to answer phone calls professionally, relay messages to providers, and communicate with providers and staff through electronic medical records (EMR). You will keep patients informed about issues and facilitate tests, labs, and appointments. An office assistant prepares medical records, researches issues, and responds to patients professionally. You will assist with administrative tasks and adhere to departmental safety rules.

Requirements
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Medical receptionist or medical assistant degree preferred but not required.
- Experience in a medical office setting or customer service environment is preferred but not required.
