    Job Description

    • Provide emotional support and counseling to pediatric patients and their families, helping them navigate the challenges associated with illness, hospitalization, and social needs.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the social, environmental, and psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and their families.
    • Collaborate with medical professionals to develop individualized care plans that address the specific needs of each pediatric patient and their family.
    • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
    • Deliver education and support to pediatric patients and their families about coping strategies, disease management, and community resources available to them.
    • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that address the holistic needs of pediatric patients.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
    • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and policies related to pediatric social work.

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in social work (MSW), marriage and family therapy (MFT), clinical mental health counseling (CMHC), or similar from an accredited institution is required.
    • Licensed clinician required (LMHC, LADC, LICSW, LMFT).
    • Prior experience in pediatric social work or a related field is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and social work theories and interventions related to pediatrics.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families during challenging times.
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to assess complex social situations and develop appropriate interventions.
    • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
